Makhammad Karim Khasanov - Director
Along with professional skills on the stock exchange MahammadKarim Khasanov has 19 years of securities market experience. At the moment Mr. Khasanov is working as CEO of Silk Capital. At his position, he is mainly engaged in analysis and forecasting of the securities market, buy and sell transactions of securities in organized trading, as well as providing consulting services in order to attract foreign investors to the stock market of Uzbekistan. Prior to joining Silk Capital from 2000 to 2016, Mr. Khasanov worked at "Elsis-Сlearing" Clearing House, which carried out clearing operations in the organized stock market, municipal and real estate exchange and which he led since 2009.
In 2014 Mr Khasanov also started working part-time as head of the Department at the national stock exchange "Toshkent" and from 2015 to 2017 he was Deputy Chairman of the Board. Mr Khasanov has a qualification certificate of 1st category, issued by the Center for coordination and development of the securities market of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which enables him to make security transactions and services in the securities market.
Sardor Koshnazarov - Development and Investment Director
Mr Koshnazarov is responsible for managing the team in successful execution of strategic and operational objectives of the firm, including in the areas of business and management consultancy, investment advisory, capital raising, corporate finance and research. Having held the positions of Director, Head of Research and Chief Economist in investment banking and investment management businesses of the firm since 2008, Mr Koshnazarov has overseen building up investment banking, corporate finance and investment research capabilities covering frontier markets such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Myanmar, Iran and Mozambique. His experience has covered discovering, due diligence and marketing investment opportunities to international investors on companies across different industries such as banking, nonbanking financial services, information technologies, media, mining, oil and gas, and real estate. His investment strategy and research products have been well received by policy advisors, in particular of central bankers, government agencies of various countries, international financial institutions, investors.
Mr Koshnazarov also worked as an Economist at United Nations’ Development Program’s private sector development project and co-authored major references for international investments in Uzbekistan in 2006-2008.
Having worked as Head of Foreign Trade Department at the Ministry of Economy of Uzbekistan until 2006, Mr Koshnazarov made significant contribution to the policy reforms in currency and banking regulation with the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, trade, customs and tax regulations with government agencies, and the implementation of foreign investment and international financial institutions-funded projects.
